This Small Cast Iron Cauldron Smudge Pot is perfect for anyone with a small or temporary altar space. It’s perfect for use as an incense bowl or smudge pot to burn sage, smudge sticks and other botanicals. Be sure to fill the cauldron with sand or salt to disperse the heat if using with a charcoal disk. Often symbolizing the womb of the Goddess, cauldrons are usually placed in the center of traditional altars. Crafted from cast iron using a two part casting process, a visible seam is normal. These cauldrons have been designed for ritual use only. Not food safe.
Potjie Pots are made in many sizes from small herb pots to large cook kettles and pre-seasoned with high quality flax oil. Pots include well-fitted lids and heavy duty carrying handles. The round shape allows the heat to flow evenly around the sides and maintain liquids at the lowest point to keep food from burning. The lid has a deep lip for holding hot coals providing top heat. Used world-wide for cajun stews, jambalayas, paellas, seafoods, Fish Fries, Beans, Turkeys, Roasts and anything you can cook over an outdoor fire.
